A nice loop in the mixed forest
below the Crags. Plenty of clear water sources extend
the recommended season. Part follows the famed Pacific
Crest Trail. Generally,
road walks disqualify, and this hike follows a dirt road for
1.1 miles. But in this case the road is a rarely used
State Park management road, and the trail portions are
particularly nice.
Note: On the
topographic map, the USGS/USFS used black lines to represent
medium-duty paved roads in the forest. This is not a
symbol listed in Topographic Map Symbols.
