MODERATE DAY HIKE

8.5 miles  1,300' elevation gain

best season:
mid July-Oct

1:15 drive

dogs welcome

This is a superb loop hike.  It visits creeks, fresh springs, lakes, a mountaintop, and part of the Pacific Crest Trail.

It is a longer and more challenging version of Green Island Lake and Frog Mountain hikes, and combines the two.

2017:  the US Forest Service has done a lot of work in the last couple years on the access road and trails.  The road is much improved with new gravel and easier to locate, and the trails have been re-established with new drainage features and tread work.

This hike is in Lassen National Forest; owned by the public, managed by Lassen National Forest. Backpacking welcomed; campfires welcomed except late Summer & early Fall.
